GOSPEL MUSIC NIGHT SING-ALONG

Wow! What a feel-good evening! Thank you to all the Church and choir members who volunteered to lead the sing-along. A big SHOUT OUT to Dorothy, Corinne, Suyin, Maxine Lorraine, Father Joe for lending your amazing voices and Anne for your magic on the keyboard! We had a wonderful and enthusiastic crowd that participated beautifully in the singing! We thank you and with the great feedback, we will be sure to do it again!

THANK YOU TO THE ALGOMA ELEMENTARY TEACHER’S FEDERATION OF ONTARIO (Sir James Dunn Wawa) for your generous donation to the Wawa Public Library. This donation funded most of the cost of this new BeaverBot and the balance is thanks to all of the small donations we receive.

Beaver Bot cutter is a tool that lets children safely transform everyday cardboard into anything they can dream up, from graphics and castles to endless creative possibilities! The BeaverBot is able to cut regular paper, fabric and cardboard! This will be a great asset to all our craft programs! Thank you to Algoma ETFO!

Lindsay “The Superior Gardener” will be joining us again this year and as an added bonus

she will be offering a Workshop on How to Properly Save Seeds.

 What a wonderful evening of amazing music shared with awesome people! We had a huge turnout, and everyone had a great time! Thank you to Marty, Mary and Paula and to all who came out for this event. Stay tuned for more Music Nights at the library!

THANK YOU, MANITOULIN TRANSPORT! The Wawa Public Library received a very generous donation from Manitoulin Transport. This donation allows us to provide amazing crafts materials, equipment and supplies for our Adult Craft Club which in turn benefits other programs as well! We are very grateful!

A makerspace is a collaborative work space inside the library ,

for making, learning, exploring

and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools. 

SCIENCE NORTH IMAGINEERING! What a great event! Again, thank you to all the donors who made it possible! So much fun! As you can see, we had a great turnout! Thank you to Genna from Science North for all your work and for the amazing Science Show!

A big thank you to the Wawa Public Library’s Senior Knitting Connection knitters! A delivery was made to the Sault Area Hospital of beautiful hats, slippers, blankets, mittens for the New Arrivals.   You all did an amazing job! We are currently knitting for WAVS and hope to produce hats, mitts, blankets, socks and other things that are useful if you are stranded or in need.

Thank you to the teams who participated in our Wawa Public Library Family Photo Scavenger Hunt! We hope you had as much fun taking the photos as we had viewing them! A BIG shout out to all the donors who make this event possible! Also thanks to Mayor Melanie and Councillors Jim Hoffman, Joe Opato, Mitch Hatfield and Cathy Cannon for your participation! Congratulations to 1st Place winners-Team Crawford, 2nd Place winners Team MacLary and 3rd Place winners-Team Barbe!

We are beyond grateful to the Rotary Club of Wawa for this amazing donation! We were turning on our AWE Learning Computers a few weeks ago and realized that one of them wouldn’t work anymore! These computers are so important and well-used in the library! Kids are using the AWE computers during our Tot Time, before and after the Afterschool and Summer Programs and many families come in on random Saturdays and evenings to play and learn. If there is a child in the library, they have accessed the AWE computers! When we reached out to the Rotary Club, we didn’t have to wait long to receive this fantastic news! This amount will cover the cost of the new computer, stand, keyboard and headphones! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for your support for children, literacy and learning and the Wawa Public Library.
